Mayport is Norfolk's smaller, sunnier counterpart: a working homeport where destroyers and other surface combatants tie up in a basin carved out of the river mouth, with MH-60R helicopter squadrons flying from the airfield next door and U.S. 4th Fleet headquartered on the station.
