Electronic Signature & Communications

1. Introduction and Scope
This Electronic Signature and Communications Disclosure ("Disclosure") applies to any and all communications between you and The Veteran Alliance ("VAB," "we," "us," or "our") relating to any financial products, services, or accounts you may apply for or obtain from us.
By consenting to receive electronic communications from us, you are agreeing to receive disclosures, notices, agreements, and other communications in electronic format as permitted by the Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (E-SIGN Act), 15 U.S.C. § 7001 et seq.
2. Your Consent
By checking the "I consent to Electronic Communications" checkbox during registration or account opening, you:
- Agree to receive all Communications (as defined below) electronically rather than in paper form
- Consent to use electronic signatures in connection with your accounts and transactions
- Acknowledge that you have the required hardware and software to receive electronic communications
- Confirm that you have access to a valid email address for receiving communications
- Understand that you may withdraw your consent at any time as described below
3. Scope of Electronic Communications
"Communications" means any account agreements, disclosures, notices, statements, records, documents, and other information we provide to you, including but not limited to:
- Account opening documents and agreements
- Privacy notices and policy updates
- Fee schedules and rate disclosures
- Monthly or periodic account statements
- Tax statements (1099s, etc.)
- Loan agreements, disclosures, and notices
- Mortgage application documents and disclosures
- Insurance policy documents and notices
- Transaction confirmations and receipts
- Notices of changes to terms or conditions
- Any other communications required by law or regulation
4. Hardware and Software Requirements
To access, receive, and retain electronic communications, you will need:
- Operating System: Windows 10+, macOS 10.14+, iOS 13+, or Android 8.0+
- Web Browser: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge (current or previous major version)
- PDF Reader: Adobe Acrobat Reader or compatible PDF viewer
- Email: Valid email address and software capable of receiving emails
- Storage: Sufficient storage to save or print communications
- Internet: Reliable internet connection
By consenting to this Disclosure, you confirm that you have the necessary hardware, software, and capabilities listed above.
5. How You Will Receive Communications
Electronic communications may be provided to you in one or more of the following ways:
- Email: Sent to the email address on file for your account
- Online Portal: Posted to your secure account dashboard at theveteranalliance.com/my
- Mobile App: Delivered through our mobile application (when available)
- Website: Posted on theveteranalliance.com with notification sent to you
6. Withdrawing Your Consent
You may withdraw your consent to receive electronic communications at any time by:
- Logging into your account and updating your communication preferences
- Contacting your personal banker
- Emailing us at support@theveteranalliance.com
- Calling us at 833-VET-LNDR (833-838-5637)
Important: Withdrawing consent may result in fees
If you withdraw your consent, we may charge a fee for paper copies of communications as permitted by law. Additionally, some accounts or services may require electronic communications, and withdrawal of consent may affect your ability to maintain or use such accounts or services.
7. Updating Your Contact Information
It is your responsibility to keep your email address and other contact information current. You can update your information by:
- Logging into your account and editing your profile
- Contacting your personal banker directly
- Calling customer service at 833-VET-LNDR (833-838-5637)
8. Requesting Paper Copies
You have the right to receive a paper copy of any communication. To request a paper copy, please contact us using the information below. We may charge a reasonable fee for paper copies as permitted by applicable law, except where prohibited.
You may also print or download any electronic communication for your records at no cost.
9. Electronic Signatures
By consenting to this Disclosure, you agree that your electronic signature has the same legal effect as a handwritten signature. This includes but is not limited to:
- Clicking "I Agree," "Accept," or similar buttons
- Typing your name in a signature field
- Using your finger or stylus to draw your signature on a touchscreen
- Using a PIN, password, or other authentication method
- Using DocuSign or other electronic signature platforms
10. Federal Law Compliance
This Disclosure is provided in accordance with the Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (E-SIGN Act), 15 U.S.C. § 7001 et seq. The E-SIGN Act establishes that electronic signatures and records are legally valid and enforceable, and that a contract may not be denied legal effect solely because it is in electronic form.
